Each month during 2017, Vic Smith has written an article with practical advice on how to approach life’s everyday problems. I hope that you’ve been able to apply this wisdom to your daily life. I also hope that these articles have demonstrated more about Abiding Word Ministries and the work Vic does.
Abiding Word Ministries is a biblically-based counseling ministry that helps anyone, regardless of finances, to overcome challenges using God’s Word and principles. Vic provides face-to-face counseling, which averages ten (10) one-hour sessions per counselee or couple.
I encourage you to listen to the testimonials of those whose lives were changed for the better through Abiding Word Ministries.
During 2017, over 130 people were counseled—that’s 1,300 hours of counseling. Vic and his wife, Carmen, spend countless additional hours preparing paperwork, making phone calls, following up with counselees and handling late-night emergencies.
Counselees included people battling depression, fear, worry, anxiety, broken marriages, spousal abuse, and loss of jobs. Unless you have directly experienced these difficulties, it’s hard to imagine the hopelessness people experience. I truly believe God has anointed Vic and Carmen with the gift to talk to people facing these difficult situations.
Because Abiding Word Ministries provides free counseling sessions to anyone without the ability to pay, financial assistance is needed to continue this ministry. Approximately 90% of those counseled are provided the counseling free of charge. It costs between $500-$750 to counsel an individual through all ten sessions.
To carry out the goals of the ministry in changing lives for the better, we are asking for you to partner with the Abiding Word Ministries.
As you review your year-end giving for 2017 and are making giving plans for 2018, we ask that you consider donating to Abiding Word Ministries. A gift of $75 covers one session of counseling for someone in need. A gift of $600 provides the tuition for all of a counselees’ sessions. Any amount is appreciated and gratefully accepted.
In addition to financial support, you can also help spread the word about Abiding Word Ministries. If the opportunity arises, please consider referring Vic to someone that is going through difficult times. Finally, your prayers over the ministry, as well as Vic and Carmen are essential and appreciated.
